The newly established science association RTO Lithuania invites everyone to the first conference “A New Step Towards Applied Research and Correlated Action” where we will discuss the future of Lithuania’s science and how cooperation can ensure that future.
The conference will take place on December 4th, 10:00 at the Center for Physical Sciences and Technology (FTMC) (Saulėtekio av. 3).

10:00 – 10:10 – Welcome word
10:10 – 10:30 – “Research and Technology Organizations in Europe and Lithuania. FTMC as a Research and Technology Organization” by Gintaras Valušis, Director of the Center for Physical Sciences and Technology.
10:30 – 10:50 – “Agricultural and forestry innovation for the development of the bioeconomy” by Gintaras Brazauskas, Director of Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry.
10:50 – 11:20 – “Climate change, energy research and innovation – benefits for society” and presentation of the new Science Council by Sigitas Rimkevičius, Director of Lithuanian Energy Institute.
11:20 – 11:50 – Panel discussion

12:20 – 12:40 – “Environment as an indicator of climate change management” by Steigvilė Byčenkienė, Head of Environmental Studies Department at FTMC.
12:40 – 13:00 – “Practical examples of fruitful R&D cooperation between science and business” by Vidmantas Šakalys, Director of Femtika.
13:00 – 13:20 – “The importance of technology transfer” by Sander van der Mollen, Associate Partner at Civitta.
